The new Civic Offices act as a catalyst for the regeneration masterplan. The new location provides the Council with a more prominent front door off a new square and major thoroughfare. A customer services facility is placed in the 'shop window' to serve and welcome users. The brief also includes flexible democratic spaces and progressive office facilities in a highly sustainable building. The scheme achieved detailed planning consent but is currently on hold.
