Rab Bennetts co-founded Bennetts Associates with his partner Denise Bennetts in 1987 and the practice has since won more than 150 awards, including shortlisting for the RIBA Stirling Prize three times. He takes a personal, hands-on approach to projects and fosters a collaborative spirit throughout the practice’s activities. Current projects include the Edinburgh Futures Institute, the Woolwich Creative District in London, Jaguar Land Rover’s design and purchasing HQ near Warwick and Glasgow’s Citizens Theatre. Rab is also involved in research projects, professional committees and construction education outside the firm. He was a founder of the UK Green Building Council and is a Trustee of Sadler’s Wells Foundation. Rab was awarded the OBE for services to architecture in 2003.
