The shortlists for Insider Media's West Midlands Property Awards 2020 have been revealed and we are excited to learn that Jaguar Land Rover Advanced Product Creation Centre is up for the Sustainability Award.
The sustainable facility reflects Jaguar Land Rover's 'Destination Zero' mission (Zero Emissions, Zero Accidents and Zero Congestion) promoting a holistic approach to reduce energy and carbon emissions through optimising passive, mechanical and renewable solutions. Throughout the design, cooling, lighting and shading is central to this approach resulting in 40% less energy use than Building Regulation requirements for artificial lighting. Up to 20% of the building's energy comes from 3,000 sqm of photovoltaic solar panels and 100% renewable electricity is sourced to enable carbon-free commuting.
Business editor at Insider Media Ian Griffin comments: "Despite the pandemic, the list of entries for this year’s event is as strong and diverse as previous years. As ever, it’s good to see submissions for projects and developers from a wide range of the sector and the region ...The businesses on this shortlist should be proud of their achievements and ability to adapt and innovate in these challenging times."
The winners will be announced next year in a gala dinner held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel.
