Fantastic to hear our project Student Services Centre for University of Cambridge has confirmed its place as a 2021 Regional Finalist at the Civic Awards. This means the scheme in Cambridge was successful during its first stage assessment and now goes forward into the award's National judging panel for a Civic Trust Award.
'Just a stone’s throw from King’s College Chapel, the New Museums Quarter is the setting for Cambridge University’s new Student Services Centre (SSC), next to the lab where DNA was discovered. As part of a 20-year development plan for the Quarter, an adaptable four-storey structure has been stitched on to two listed properties -the former Art School and Old Cavendish Wing- linking historic and new spaces across a dramatic timber-lined hallway to create an experience of contrasts and visual richness.'
The winners will be announced in January 2021. Fingers crossed and congratulations to the team involved in the project.
