Equality and Diversity
The Black Lives Matter movement is driving the agenda on diversity and equality powerfully. This is a time that demands reflection, transparency, learning and action by everyone.
At Bennetts Associates, we are fully committed to achieving diversity and equality in all its forms. In our 2017 Business Plan we set ourselves goals in this regard but, despite some successes, we openly admit that there is much more we as an organisation need to do.
With regards to racial diversity, collaboration with the Stephen Lawrence Trust, Camden STEAM, and our work experience scheme have all targeted trying to encourage new generations from diverse under-represented backgrounds into the profession. Our recruitment programme created a better diversity balance last year but this has not been sustained.
Hence we are using this watershed moment to be transparent and re-double our efforts in every aspect of diversity and equality, but with a current focus on ethnicity. We are actively engaging with staff and advisors to agree new commitments with actions for achieving them that will be reported against.
