Get it Right Initiative (GIRI) launches guide to reduce error throughout the design process

As one of the founding members of the Get it Right Initiative (GIRI) Bennetts Associates is part of the working group that has developed a ‘Guide to Improving Value by Reducing Error’.

GIRI research has revealed that a large proportion of construction errors, costing the UK industry billions per year, are rooted in deficiencies or changes in design. These research findings have motivated GIRI Members from across all disciplines to unite, share knowledge and collaborate for the creation of a design guide to address the causes of these errors.

The guide has been produced with input from Clients, Contractors and Designers and launched on World Quality Day. It comprises of twelve principal recommendations that can be applied to any project, particularly at commencement and during early design stages. The guide aims to share knowledge across the industry as a useful tool, rather than presenting itself as a ground-breaking report, and serves as a reminder of the best practice techniques to follow when approaching projects.
