This year’s Green Sky Thinking Design Competition posed the question: what is the future of last-mile logistics? XCO2 and SEGRO, in conjunction with Open House and the Greater London Authority, invited entrants to submit concept ideas for the next generation of city-centre logistics with a focus upon the socio-economic value of the concepts developed to deliver functional spaces that offer employment and community for the people who live in them.
Our team presented the 'Last Mile Community', an agile, workable and local solution that could be applied to any site - check out the two presentation panels here.
Our scheme took away not only the judges' first prize, but also the public vote - winning over twice the number of votes as the second-placed proposal. Well done to the team: Ben Hopkins, Edward Marchand, David Dawson, Chris Hall, Simon Erridge, Julian Lipscombe, Peter Fisher and Anthi Tzakou - and Elizabeth and David Walker who were there to collect the award with Ben on the night.
