RIBA Journal presents a debate titled 'Sustainability - Where are we now?'.
Sustainability, especially
in the construction industry, has been the buzzword of the last 15 years. Yet,
has it lost its meaning and how should we now measure it? Advances in
technology, BIM and the increasing amount of data we can collect, means that we
can approach the concept of sustainability differently, more precisely and
measure it to a greater extent than ever before.
Join RIBA Journal and Dow Construction at The Building Centre as they reappraise the concept of sustainability, discuss what sustainability means now, debate whether current regulations are outdated and ponder what, if anything, is now driving the green policy agenda in the built environment.
Rab Bennetts will chair the discussion and speakers include:
Judit Kimpian, director, sustainable architecture and research, AHR Architects
John Davies, head of sustainability, Derwent London
Chris Twinn, founder, Twinn Sustainability
Dr. Owen Abe, associate director, Centre for Sustainable Products BRE
Mark Harris, head of technical services and operations, Radmat and NFRC
Joan Ferrer, technical sales manager, Dow Building and Construction
The event takes place from 09:15 - 13:00 on Monday 18 September 2017, at the Building Centre, Store St, London, WC1E 7BT and includes lunch hosted by the Building Centre's event partners Dow Building Solutions.
