Overview of Role & Involvement with WiP: I’ve been an architect for 25 years, recently working on Higher Education buildings in Edinburgh & a London office building. I am reading about the Indian architect Balkrishna Doshi, who wrote: “My work is a story of life, continuously evolving, changing and searching, searching to take away the word architecture and look only at life” This is what interests me about architecture; the power of good design to change lives, whether it is academics collaborating more effectively, or people recovering better in hospital. I don't know why I didn't join WiP years ago! In my 1st year I have enjoyed site visits, friendly chat & look forward to getting more involved.

Favourite Book: I've been rereading Andrea Levy's books during the lockdown - loving them.

Unusual fact about me: I have been a leader on five arctic expeditions helping young people fulfill their potential through science & adventure with British Exploring Society. Pre-lockdown, I took my daughter onto the roof terrace of the new Bayes Centre (The University of Edinburgh) with impressive robotics labs & dramatic spaces, she was surprised to see what mum had been doing for 5 years.
