“The world has changed very much in how people view older buildings, even ones that aren’t heritage.. Timber Square, is clearly a rough industrial building but already has a huge amount of character in it." - Peter Fisher, Radio 4 - Costing the Earth
BBC Radio Four released their latest episode of Costing the Earth, the show focussed on 'fresh ideas from the sharpest minds working toward a cleaner, greener planet'. In Rip It Up And Start Again, the episode specifically focuses on Retrofit. Director Peter Fisher takes Architect Elsie Owusu to discuss our pioneering net zero carbon workplace project Timber Square.
"You can take a huge amount of their carbon emissions away from their corporate portfolio by occupying genuinely net zero carbon buildings – this is what Landsec and ourselves have been aiming for on Timber Square."
What is driving the retrofit for Timber Square? How are we learning the lessons of climate change and applying it to architecture?
