Shaftesbury Theatre is a finalist in RIBA's Open Door: A celebration of heritage conservation in the UK and China.

Open Door, a partnership between the RIBA and British Council, is designed to promote and celebrate outstanding conservation work by emerging architects in mainland China and in the UK.

As a RIBA Awards winner, we were pleased to learn Shaftesbury Theatre is chosen as one of the 2022 finalists since the building truly celebrates architectural heritage. This also marks our ongoing collaboration with Shaftesbury Theatre which has been ongoing since 2012 with the most recent phase of reimagining the theatre's foyers completing this year.

Conservation is about two things: it’s about the physical restoration of the building fabric, but it’s also about making buildings relevant and useful today. Old buildings don’t just have to be museum pieces, they can be an important part of our contemporary city.
