The new and transformed cultural centre Theatre Porto (formerly called Whitby Hall) has just opened in the grounds of Whitby Park. The space for children and young people will bring together the Ellesmere Port community for many years to come.

A bold, contemporary addition to the original Hall enhances its position as a local landmark. The simple form and geometry of the building is set back from the main façade of the hall, with proportion and terracotta-coloured cladding tying the two together. The historic house has been restored and contemporary theatre facilities added.
