Last week, Bennetts Associates, BAM and Argent LLP celebrated the topping out of the T Zone buildings, soon to be known as 11-21 Canal Reach, hub and new offices for Facebook at London’s King’s Cross.
11-21 Canal Reach is a contemporary workplace located in the ‘Western Yards’ of the King’s Cross masterplan. The office development features 38,000 sq. m. of Grade A office space that rises from nine to twelve storeys high. The building comprises four stepped pavilions arranged along the curve of Canal Reach and will feature a huge 4,000 sq m. landscaped roof garden, offering users uninterrupted views over Central London.
This is our fourth major project for Argent at King’s Cross and we’re delighted to have reached such an important milestone on programme and with the scheme on target to achieve both a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating and its ambitious embodied carbon targets. A big part in the success has been the open communication with the Client Team, the Main Contractor, all the Consultants and Trade Contractors that have been working together towards the same goals, and to find solutions for the benefit of the project; Collaboration has been, and will be, the key to the success of the development. The scheme is due for completion in 2021.
Tom Callaway, Senior Development Manager, Argent comments:-
"There has been strong focus on collaboration, transparency and working towards a common goal – these values are not just buzz words and I believe the success of the project to date is largely down to this shared commitment which has been brought into both by the BAM management team and supply chain. 2020 will be a busy year for the project as we race towards completion, however I’m confident we have the right team and resources to deliver a successful project on time..."
