She joined Bennetts Associates in 2015 to be project architect for the multi-award-winning Bayes Centre for the University of Edinburgh, a collaborative work, research and teaching building that brings together academics and professionals in the fields of robotics, maths and data.
Prior to joining Bennetts Associates, Sally worked for Penoyre & Prasad in London on projects including six Community Treatment and Care Centres in Belfast, Wolverhampton Central Library and the health centre for the London 2012 Olympics. A former member of the NHS Design Review Panel, she has been interested in the beneficial impact of good design on health and wellbeing for over twenty-five years and recently qualified as a WELL Accredited Professional.
Sally has taken part in five arctic expeditions with young people with the British Exploring Society. Seeing first-hand the changes to the arctic over a thirty-year period has given her added impetus to design buildings to mitigate the effect of climate change.
These expeditions also fed her interest in youth development. She has worked with school children of all ages to encourage them to take an interest in the built environment and inspire them to think about design. She is Schools Outreach Co-ordinator for the Central Scotland committee of Women in Property and co-ordinates WIP 'netwalks' - networking walks in Edinburgh.
