Representation in all media is a critical part of our design and construction process.

Every member of our team holds the expertise to drive innovation and research development with the latest rendering tools and processes to communicate architectural design at every stage.

    Experience the Space

Architecture of substance can only be achieved through an exceptional understanding of how buildings are put together. From the earliest stages of design our teams use a mix of traditional hand drawn and physical modelling techniques to convey initial ideas. Once the project is on a firm footing, computer generated images (CGI), real time rendering and virtual reality (VR) experiences enable all parties to engage with the design principles that define a successful building. Our studios feature a dedicated VR suite for guided walkthroughs and regular R&D in emerging hardware or software applications shaping this innovative field. Additionally, our model shop supports all live projects and bids with processes such as 3D printing prototypes to detailed models that secure planning permission. Recent advances in computer gaming technology or real time rendering allow live interactions with the space and push forward our cross-sector design; this is what maintains Bennetts Associates at the forefront of architectural visualisation.

    Stakeholder Engagement

Chemistry and trust between people are the best foundations for enduring work. We find one of the best strategies to engage clients and user groups, is to use physical models and hand sketches during face-to-face workshops and team meetings. Our practice adopts a structured approach to design development and decision making that analyses the project’s requirements before attempting to define the design. Options for alternative solutions are tabled openly for discussion, with clear preferences being identified where appropriate. The thoroughness of this approach means that the client team is fully engaged in the scheme and able to make informed, timely decisions that are boosted and complemented by VR and 3D-printing technologies. Being immersed into 3D models allows a full sensory experience of qualities of the space.

    Cost Saving and Waste Reduction

We work with thoughtfulness and rigour. The notion of a collective effort inherent in building information modelling (BIM) is second nature to us. Over the past 10 years, we have experienced how architectural practice and collaboration with consultants is instrumented by the use of BIM and we maintain a Level 2 BIM strategy integrated with the design process. Through using BIM for all major projects, we ensure our approach to safe, sustainable and intelligent buildings results in considerable cost savings. All BIM projects use a combination of the latest releases of Revit Architecture, 3D Studio Max, and Navisworks software. They aid early design decision, faster production of drawings, schedules, and visualisations, whilst managing and recording the efficient co-ordination and clash detection process. BIM combined with VR minimises risks and reduces waste during construction to help us continue designing award-winning and green buildings from inception to delivery, and throughout the whole lifetime of the project.
