Since joining Bennetts Associates in 2006, Rob Bearyman has led some of the practice’s most complex projects across the cultural, commercial, higher education and heritage sectors. As happy sketching initial ideas as he is navigating delivery years into a project, Rob is skilled in uniting teams around a shared vision and bringing it to life.
He oversaw the award-winning headquarters for the Royal College of Pathologists in Aldgate and led the transformation of five disused military buildings at Woolwich Arsenal into Woolwich Works, both RIBA National Award-winning buildings. His experience also includes projects for the Royal Colleges of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Ophthalmologists, One Bedford Avenue in Fitzrovia and the refurbishment of Hampshire County Council’s headquarters in Winchester.
In many ways, his work demands a combination of strategic thinking and attention to detail; qualities that also inform his personal interest in making furniture.
Rob plays an active role in the management of the practice, contributing to both strategic direction and studio life. He helped lead our successful journey to B Corp certification, reflecting our belief that our business should be a force for positive change. He’s a member of the Hackney Design Review Panel, which helps to ensure the highest design quality across all types of development in the borough.
