Bond Suite 2.04 Interiors

The fit-out of our Manchester studio was an opportunity to reflect the principles that underpin our work. We wanted to create a space that expressed material authenticity and resource awareness while providing a practical and inspiring setting for everyday practice. The result is a calm and characterful environment that captures the spirit of the studio itself.

The design strategy was guided by flexibility. A modular system allows the space to be reconfigured or disassembled easily, supporting future adaptability while ensuring minimal impact on the listed building that houses it. Every element was designed to be functional, efficient and straightforward to install, aligning with our wider commitment to circular design.

A restrained material palette provides a neutral backdrop to our work. Plywood, steel and painted finishes define the framework of the studio allowing the life of the practice to animate the space through the drawings, models, samples and books that accumulate over time. In this way the fit-out becomes a setting that quietly supports creativity rather than competing with it.

The studio offers a balance between shared and individual working with open tables for collaboration, enclosed meeting areas and dedicated spaces for review and reflection. Together these create a versatile and welcoming environment that embodies our belief in thoughtful enduring design and the careful use of materials.
