Materials Library
Interiors
A shared resource that underpins every project, the materials library reflects our commitment to longevity, circularity and the honest expression of materials.
Across our studios we have developed a materials library that acts as both a physical and digital reference for the whole practice. It brings together products and samples from past and current projects, building a collective understanding of how materials perform, age and contribute to environmental impact. This shared database allows us to make informed decisions and maintain consistency in the way materials are specified across all our work.
The library is grounded in a philosophy of resource minimalism. By studying the environmental data behind each material, we focus on those that balance practicality, durability and low embodied carbon. Preference is given to reused, self-finished and locally sourced materials, ensuring each choice supports circular design and responsible supply chains. The goal is to reduce waste and maximise the life of every element we use.
Beyond analysis and data, the library is a place of discovery. Samples are handled, compared and tested, encouraging an intuitive understanding of texture, colour and craft. This tactile process informs our interiors and fit-out work, where the physical qualities of a material often define the character of a space.
The materials library continues to evolve as new research, projects and collaborations shape our thinking. It connects the intellectual and the practical, guiding our approach to sustainable design and ensuring that every project, from workplace to cultural building, is rooted in material honesty and longevity.
