Ruth Hamilton

Ruth is a key member of the team working on the King’s Theatre in Edinburgh to revitalise and safeguard the theatre and give it a renewed sense of destination.

She joined the Edinburgh studio for a year-long Part I placement during her undergraduate degree in 2016 and worked on the Jaguar Land Rover project. Ruth re-joined the practice in 2022 and since then has been a member of the King’s Theatre team through RIBA Stages 4 and 5. Working on the King’s allows her to explore her interest in existing buildings and material reuse, something which she also investigated in her masters project situated on the Forth & Clyde Canal in Glasgow. The project was shortlisted for the Sustainable Design and Andy MacMillan Drawing awards at the Architecture & Design Scotland and RIAS Student Awards.
