Workplace in Belgravia

This transformation brings new life to two historic townhouses, where no two spaces are alike. The design embraces this individuality, creating a variety of settings that support different ways of working and connecting. Developed in close collaboration with the client, the scheme balances focus and flexibility: from lively, public-facing areas and breakout spaces to quiet lounges, small libraries, and a flexible theatre for events and presentations.

Material choices express the building’s dual spirit of heritage and innovation. Natural, enduring finishes such as oak parquet, lime plaster, and solid timber staircases honour the craftsmanship of the original fabric, while bold joinery, lighting, and soft furnishings introduce a playful, contemporary energy that reflects the client’s brand.

Environmental performance and material reuse guided every stage of the project. In line with the practice’s low-carbon principles, existing elements, from structural components to doors and sanitaryware, were carefully catalogued, restored, and re-used, reducing waste and preserving character.

The result is a workspace that feels both grounded and forward-looking: rich in texture, light, and history, yet distinctly modern in spirit. It’s a place where heritage and innovation meet – a thoughtful evolution of the past into a vibrant setting for the future.
