Matthew has extensive experience working across the UK and South Africa, covering all RIBA project stages. His portoflio spans a diverse range of project types and scales, from small, listed private homes to large commercial, residential and cultural developments, including wineries, sports centres, film studios and restaurants. He is currently delivering a new DfMA rooftop pavilion as part of the retrofit of a prominent 1990s office building on Gray’s Inn Road. Having first qualified and registered as an architect in South Africa, Matthew went on to complete his Part III qualifications in the UK. His thesis, which explored environmental, social and economic challenges in South Africa received multiple awards.
Matthew takes a hands-on approach to design, whether through detailed sketching or experimenting with joinery and construction techniques after doing a complete DIY renovation of his own home.
