Peter Fisher combines leadership and technical expertise with a belief in the value and beauty of restrained, resourceful design. He has an unusual background, having studied both architecture and environmental design. Today, he works at the intersection of the two disciplines, designing buildings that can endure and deliver more with less.
Peter joined Bennetts Associates in 2001 and has been a driving force behind the practice’s approach to net zero. He has worked across sectors to lead a range of award-winning projects, including civic offices for Hampshire County Council and the London Borough of Camden and education commissions, such as the Student Services Centre for the University of Cambridge. He is currently responsible for Timber Square in Southwark, a net zero development for Landsec incorporating the UK’s largest commercial hybrid timber and steel structure.
Beyond projects, Peter is deeply engaged in advancing sustainable design standards across the industry. He has contributed to the RIBA’s 2030 Climate Challenge and is part of the team developing the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard. He chairs The Knowledge Quarter’s Net Zero Carbon Advisory Group and serves on the ESG & Sustainability Forum of the Cambridge University Land Society. A Fellow of the RSA, he has also taught, lectured and written widely on architecture and was a Design Fellow at the University of Cambridge for seven years.
